B.C. Interior city ranked hottest in Canada this summer

A B.C. Interior city was the luckiest place in all of Canada this summer as residents there experienced the most days with temperatures over 30 C.

The Weather Network has compiled its summer data and found that Kamloops has the most days this summer with temperatures at or over 30 C. According to meteorologists, Kamloops has had 41 days at or above 30 C so far this summer.

"Unlike the proverbially mild coast, B.C.'s interior actually sees some of the hottest average summer temperatures in Canada most years," said the Weather Network on its website.

Toronto took second spot with 37 days worth of 30-degree temperatures followed by Ottawa with 29 days. It was bad news this summer for those living in Calgary, Edmonton and Halifax as residents there have only experienced one day so far this summer above 30-degrees.

Summer is not quite done yet though. The official end of the season will take place on Sept. 12 and the Weather Network is expected to release an updated list as hot weather is forecasted across the country for the rest of the week.
