Penticton RCMP seek witnesses of hit and run that left cyclist seriously injured

The Penticton RCMP are hoping to speak to witnesses of a hit and run that left a woman with serious injuries Sunday morning.

According to a news release, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Government Street and Carmi Avenue on April 28 around 10:45 am.

Mounties say the woman was traveling south on Government Street with a group of fellow cyclists when she fell off her bike.

When she fell, a truck hit her and did not stop but rather continued driving south on Government Street.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Now, the RCMP are looking to speak to witnesses who may not have spoken with police yet, especially those who may have captured the hit and run on their vehicle’s dash cam.

The truck is described as a 2010-2015 model year midsize pick-up truck, which had a logo on it.

Police ask anyone with information to call them and refer to file 2024-6288.
