Missing Kelowna senior: Search teams return to backcountry where truck was found

Search and rescue teams will continue to look for “high risk” missing senior Allan Francescutti today.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) said on social media they will be in the Dee Lake area, east of Lake Country, on Wednesday.

Francescutti, who is 79 and from Kelowna, was last seen on April 16. On Tuesday, Kelowna RCMP said his truck was found near Doreen Lake in the Beaver Lake Road and Dee Lake Road area.

Duane Tresnich, the search manager at COSAR, has asked anyone with game cameras in the area to review their photographs for potential signs of the missing senior.

"We are trying to establish a direction of travel,” he said. “Any images showing Francescutti would be beneficial."

More than a dozen COSAR members were out searching for Francescutti on Tuesday.
