Employment is on the rise in Canada, according to a new report from Statistics Canada.
Last month alone, there were 67,000 new jobs in the country, although most of them were part-time. The unemployment rate was not affected, and has stayed at 7 per cent.
In September, there were more employed people over age 55, but there was little change in other age groups.
Provincially, employment rose in Quebec, Alberta and New Brunswick, but stayed relatively the same in all the other provinces.
Self-employment increased in September, but the number of private and public sector employees stayed about the same.
